The 62nd day of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra started from Mokhada in the Palghar district of Maharashtra. Thousands of people joined the Nyay Yatra here, all distressed by the BJP’s injustices. The proposed Vadhavan Port is located in the Palghar district. Despite this port’s serious threat to the local environment, the BJP government has pushed it forward. There is a serious concern that this will cause significant damage to the livelihoods of local fishing communities and tribes.
Consequently, local people have been protesting against it for years. However, as is the case with the BJP government, they do not listen to the poor. Similarly, the opposition to the port is not getting space in the media, nor is the government paying any attention to it. That is why thousands of people were walking with the hope of Nyay with the Congress leader.
After the roadshow, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi addressed the public in Wada taluka of Palghar. He vehemently attacked the Anyay being inflicted on the people for the past decade and the attempts by the media to divert public attention. He told the youth to stand against this Anyay. He said, ‘In India, Anyay is being done to the poor, farmers, small businessmen, youth, and laborers. Narendra Modi ji has waived off a debt of 16,000 crores for 22 of India’s biggest industrialists. But not a single rupee of your debt has been waived. The government is working round the clock to plunder you. Dalits, Adivasis, Backward, Minority, OBC, and poor general caste people together constitute nearly 88% of the population. So, shouldn’t you have something in your hands? Recognise your power.’
Then Rahul Gandhi said, ‘Your voice doesn’t come in the media because you don’t have any presence there. You see the country, you see that you are 88%, but there is hardly anyone representing you at higher levels. The rule of 5% is prevailing there. These people will never let you progress. Recognise your power. The day you understand this, no one can stop you.’
‘In the Fasal Bima Yojna, 35,000 crores are given. There are 16 companies, they get all this money. None of their owners are yours. None of your people are in senior management. If your crop fails, insurance companies say, ‘We won’t give you a penny.’ The land is given to build hospitals, but have you ever read that Adani, Ambani’s land, has been taken? They take everyone’s land, but their land is never taken.’
‘What has Narendra Modi ji done for 88% in the last ten years? You are being robbed for 24 hours. Will you do something about it or not? Why is 88% of India not participating? This is my question. Judiciaries, media, corporate, nothing is in the hands of 88%. They say to you, Aadhi roti khao, Prabhu ke gun gao aur bhookhe maro.’
‘I have seen the system from the inside. That’s why BJP people hate me. Modi ji’s government spends thousands of crores on media ads, but that money doesn’t reach the Adivasis. Only 3% of them get it. NGOs get crores of rupees, but not a single owner of them comes from this 88%. So where are these 88%? They work as laborers, they are in MNREGA. Your sons take selfies and watch reels, and Adani’s son counts money. You sing the Lord’s virtues, they count money. There is only one solution for this – caste census and economic survey.’
‘Ask yourself daily how much money this country has given me today. How much power has been given? This 88% fought for independence. The first question is, where is the money going? The second question is, how much money is coming to us? How much is coming to our village? How much is coming in the education of youth?’
‘The INDIA government is going to do five things for Adivasis. It is written in our manifesto.
After this address, the yatra headed towards Thane. Thousands of people joined the procession in Thane, and a group of youth also embarked on the Yatra. The roadshow ended upon reaching Anand Dighe Chowk, and the Congress leader addressed the crowd gathered there.
He said, ‘A few days ago, the Supreme Court said that the State Bank of India should disclose the figures related to the electoral bonds initiated by Narendra Modi to the public. The big corporate houses of India have given thousands of crores of rupees to Narendra Modi and the BJP through electoral bonds. Whatever contracts the government of India awards to whichever company, they bribe the BJP through electoral bonds. By pressuring the companies and exerting pressure from ED, CBI, and Income Tax, thousands of crores of rupees are extorted from them. BJP has taken from crores of people of India.’

Additionally, Rahul Gandhi attacked the BJP government for the Anyay being inflicted upon the people. This government is only doing Anyay. Arthik Anyay, Samajik Anyay, Anyay against farmers, Anyay against unemployed youth. The only solution to this is a caste census and economic survey.
Encouraging the youth to participate in the battle for Nyay against Anyay, the Yatra set off towards the camp for overnight rest. After a Yatra of 6,600 kilometres across the country, tomorrow Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra will reach Mumbai.
