Rahul Gandhi: Congress Promises MSP And Caste Census

Today marked the 38th day of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra. The Yatra commenced at 2 p.m. from Fursatganj in the Amethi district, heading towards Raebareli and Lucknow. Earlier in the morning, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi appeared before the District Civil Court in Sultanpur, which had issued a summons to him 36 hours earlier to appear before it on a defamation case filed by a BJP leader in August 2018. The court granted bail to Mr. Gandhi, after which he proceeded with the yatra from Amethi to Lucknow.

By engaging in such actions, the BJP government is providing evidence of its own fear. Since the Yatra began in January, the BJP government has been attempting to intimidate Rahul Gandhi through various measures. Despite the BJP’s efforts to obstruct the Nyay Yatra, Rahul Gandhi remains undeterred. The Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra will continue. Neither Rahul Gandhi nor the Congress party is backing down.

Once again, a large crowd eagerly awaited Rahul Gandhi in Amethi. As he traveled in an open jeep with the color red prominent, people along the way chanted slogans like, ‘Look, look, who has come, the lion has come, the lion has come.’

The BJP government is troubled by the love and enthusiasm of the people, creating chaos and attempting to thwart Rahul Gandhi at every step. However, they forget that it is not Rahul Gandhi who is afraid.

The Nyay Yatra persists, and neither Rahul Gandhi nor the Congress party is silent or afraid. In Amethi’s Bachrawa, Rahul Gandhi addressed a public meeting. Once again, he launched a sharp attack on the central government. In the midst of his speech, he called a youth onto his jeep in Amethi who was wearing a T-shirt that read – ‘69000 Teacher Recruitment Reservation Scam.’ The young man held a banner that stated – ‘Appoint 6800 OBC, SC teachers.’ He was so distressed by the government’s lax process that, in front of Mr. Gandhi, he burst into tears. Rahul Gandhi’s voice is now echoing the frustration and dissatisfaction of the youth.

Addressing the youth, he said, ‘In this country, Dalits, backward classes, and tribals are suppressed 24 hours a day, and they are spat upon. Let me tell you about the paper leak; approximately 90% of the population is told, ‘Son, study, take out 5-6 lakhs from your father’s pocket, put it in private colleges and coaching, and then you will become an IAS, IPS.’ What happens next? Your paper gets leaked, and those who didn’t do any work get the same percentage marks as you. You keep watching. You have to claim your rights. The 73 percent have to claim their rights, and the first step towards claiming those rights is the Caste Census.’

The youth see only one face as their future – Rahul Gandhi. The people of the backward castes are being suppressed due to their caste, and Congress and Rahul Gandhi are being pressured not to question the government. But now, neither Rahul Gandhi will stop nor will the youth fall for false speeches.

After this address, the Nyay Yatra continued. The same scenes unfolded along the way: a crowd of thousands, slogans in support of Rahul Gandhi. Upon reaching Raebareli, a large number of people were waiting in anticipation of Mr. Gandhi. Once again, Rahul Gandhi paused and addressed the crowd. He spoke about the caste-based census and urged people to be aware of their rights. He said, ‘73 percent of people endure inflation and unemployment. Two to three percent enjoy. In the Ram Mandir, the Adivasi president was ousted. The poor and laborers got nowhere. Instead of giving their rights to the poor, efforts are made to divert their attention. Breaking free from this situation is a revolutionary step towards caste census. The day you understand your position, you will be able to do your work in two minutes.’

The yatra from Raebareli towards Lucknow commenced. In Lucknow, a grand welcome awaited Mr. Gandhi and the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra. Thousands of people had crowded the roads in anticipation of Rahul Gandhi. The entire city of Lucknow seemed to come to a standstill. Here, Rahul Gandhi addressed a public meeting. Amidst the echoes of the slogan, ‘Humara Neta Kaisa Ho, Rahul Gandhi Jaisa Ho,’ Rahul began speaking. Addressing the people, Mr. Gandhi talked about economic and social justice. He stated, ‘Demonetization and GST were implemented to promote billionaires like Adani. Small businesses were destroyed. In every corner of Uttar Pradesh, youth say they are troubled by paper leaks. The only path for the youth here is competitive exams, for which they prepare for years. But on the day of the exam, they find out that the paper has been leaked. Rich kids score 100% without studying, while the poor child keeps watching. For the poor, there is only the path of labor.’

He also emphasized the Agniveer Yojana, a plan to remove backward and poor people. Additionally, he reiterated the Congress party’s commitment to implementing caste-based census and the MSP law. He said, ‘In our manifesto, we have written the most revolutionary steps. As soon as our government comes, we will implement the caste-based census. Another task will be to provide legal MSP to farmers through the Congress party. We need to eliminate hatred and bring back brotherhood. This country is a land of love.’

After this address, the yatra continued towards Banthra Thana. Arrangements for the night’s rest were made there.

“Any individual in the country who feels subjected to injustice, experiencing any form of unfair treatment, holds the potential to transform into a Nyay Yoddha. If you harbour the aspiration to become a Nyay Yoddha, give a missed call at 9891802024.”

Won’t it be a big challenge for the government to finance this MSP guarantee?
