Rahul Gandhi: Adani Holds The Reins Of The Golden Bird (Sone Ki Chidiya)

The 33rd day of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra began in Aurangabad, Bihar. Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge were set to address a massive gathering in Aurangabad’s Gandhi Maidan, but they arrived late due to technical issues with their aircraft.

Despite the delay, the patient crowd gathered in large numbers, eagerly awaiting Rahul Gandhi. Bihar Pradesh Congress President Akhilesh Prasad Singh and several other Congress leaders engaged the audience, displaying their unwavering support. Despite the slush in the ground caused by the downpour in Bihar, people stood firm, showcasing their love for the Congress party.

As Rahul Gandhi arrived, the crowd erupted in chants of  ‘Congress Party Zindabad’ and ‘Rahul Gandhi Zindabad.’ The enthusiasm was palpable. After welcoming remarks from Congress leaders, Mallikarjun Kharge addressed the crowd, criticizing the central government, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

Kharge began with a poem targeting PM Modi, expressing concerns about unfulfilled promises. He criticized Nitish Kumar for betraying the public by joining the BJP after vowing not to. The speech covered various issues, including the ongoing farmer protests, economic injustice, and high unemployment.

The Congress President began his speech with a poem that targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said, ‘I start with a sher (poem)…

Nazar nahi hai, nazaron ki baat karte hain,

Zameen par chaand sitaron ki baat karte hain,

Vo haath jodkar basti ko lootne wale,

Bhari sabha mein sudharo ki baat karte hain,

Bada hasin hai, unke zubaan ka jaadu,

Laga ke aag bahaaron ki baat karte hain,

Mili kamaan to atki nazar khazaane par,

Nadi sookhakar kinaaron ki baat karte hain,

Vahi gareeb banate hain aam logon ko,

Vahi nasib ke maron ki baat karte hain.

This is Modi’s politics. He only cares about the rich. Congress Party works for the poor, and we will continue to do so.’

Afterwards, he launched an attack on Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. He said, ‘In Patna, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had said that he would die but never join the BJP. But where is he today? The person who himself said that he would die but never join the BJP is now sitting in the lap of the BJP. He promised us the Mahagathbandhan. He promised to provide jobs to ten lakh people in five years. The BJP, through threats and intimidation, has taken him into its fold. And the one who, by promising the poor, got votes, has today joined the party that is looting the poor.’

Switching to the Minimum Support Price (MSP) issue, Kharge declared the Congress’s commitment to legal guarantees with MSP for every farmer. He criticized the BJP’s response, accusing them of spreading misinformation.

The people might have fueled the enthusiasm in the Congress President’s speech. The crowd was continuously chanting slogans. Shri Kharge was also impressed by their energy. Referring to the false promises of the central government and the Prime Minister, he said, ‘In the 2015 elections, Modi Ji promised to give Bihar 1 lakh 15 thousand crores, but not a single rupee came from that. They used to chant ‘ Aaya Ram, Gaya Ram’ earlier, but now it has become ‘Aaya Kumar, Gaya Kumar.’ People like them never do anything good for the country. They can talk nicely, they can speak well, but they will not do anything for the country. The RJD, Left, and Congress, who always talk about collaboration, are not afraid of anyone. They a run away or chant ‘Aaya Ram Gaya Ram.’

On the farmers’ demonstration at the Delhi border, Shri Kharge criticized the central government and said, ‘We stand with all the farmers who are fighting in Delhi. We have already stated that if our government comes, we will bring a law guaranteeing MSP. We are not among those who speak falsehoods. When people did not have food, under the leadership of Sonia Gandhi, we brought the Food Security Act, providing food to millions. Today, Modi Ji claims to have given free grains to 80 crore people. Where did he get them from? The law is ours, we gave it, and then you add five kilos of rice and say that we gave everyone free grains. You were in power for ten years, but now you remember about distributing rice? When we were not in power, even after winning the election, we worked. We brought the Food Security Act, worked for children’s education, created public sector units, built the Bhakra Nangal Dam, and accomplished significant projects.’

‘We provided a subsidy of 72,000 crores, but Modi did not waive off the debt. Modi only says that I keep people in happiness and prosperity. When the government of Chhattisgarh, on behalf of the state, can increase the MSP, why not in Bihar? They only keep saying, but they do nothing.’

After the Congress President, Rahul Gandhi, was called upon to express his views. Mr. Gandhi, once again, launched a strong attack on the central government. However, due to his late arrival, he first apologized to those present in the audience and then appeared in his familiar persona.

He said, ‘Narendra Modi has forgiven a debt of 14 lakh crore rupees for the richest people. The budget for one year of MNREGA is 70 thousand crore rupees. But all the rich people are saying that money is being wasted because of this scheme for poor people. However, the debt of 14 lakh crore rupees for the rich is forgiven in one second. This news doesn’t even come in the newspapers because all the media channels belong to the rich. Wherever you look, you will find injustice. Economic injustice is that in 40 years, the highest unemployment.’

He reminded people that our country used to be called the golden bird (Sone Ki Chidiya), and now control of that bird is with Ambani and Adani, which he emphasized further. He said, ‘This country used to be called the golden bird. Our country is still a golden bird, but now that bird is in the hands of Ambani and Adani. Therefore, through the caste census, everyone will know how much wealth is in the hands of the poor, general category, backward classes, and tribals. The truth will come out.’

On the farmers’ protest regarding Minimum Support Price (MSP), Mr. Gandhi spoke emphatically, saying, ‘A few days ago, we took a historic step. For the first time in the history of India, we declared that the Congress Party will provide a legal guarantee along with MSP to every farmer in India. When we talked about the caste-based census, Mr. Modi started saying that there are only two castes in India – rich and poor. Initially, he used to say, ‘I am OBC.’ Now he says there are only two castes.’

“When we spoke about MSP, the BJP said that the Congress Party cannot do this. Initially, they used to say that the Congress Party could not waive the farmers’ debt. We demonstrated by waiving a debt of 72 thousand crores. This is the goal of Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra. We talk about social justice, economic justice, and these things.”

As the Congress leaders concluded their speeches, the Nyay Yatra headed towards Rohtas, where arrangements for a night stay were made.

“Any individual in the country who feels subjected to injustice, experiencing any form of unfair treatment, holds the potential to transform into a Nyay Yoddha. If you harbour the aspiration to become a Nyay Yoddha, give a missed call at 9891802024.”
