Day 25: Rahul Gandhi- 30 Lakhs Forced To Migrate, 30 Allowed To Loot

The 25th day of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra commenced with a visit to Vedavyas Dham in the Sundargarh district of Western Odisha. It is believed that Sage Vedavyas, the author of the Mahabharata, composed the epic in the cave of this temple. After worshiping, the Yatra continued on its path. The Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra and Rahul Gandhi’s roadshow took place from Uditnagar to Panposh Chowk. Thousands of people participated in the procession, chanting slogans in support of Rahul Gandhi. Upon reaching Panposh Chowk, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi addressed the crowd, targeting both the central and state governments.

In his speech, Rahul Gandhi stated, ‘Here, a government is running in partnership between Naveen Patnaik and Narendra Modi. They work together. I observe in Parliament that whenever we need assistance, the members of BJD start harassing us on Modi’s instructions. So, it’s not just BJD here, there is a partnership between BJD and BJP, and Congress is fighting against both.’

Rahul Gandhi did not stop here. He addressed the people of Rourkela, discussing the 30-30 connection. He said, ‘I want to give you two figures. Thirty lakh people have left Odisha and are working as laborers in other states. They are hungry because the Odisha government is not doing its job. The second figure is that thirty billionaires have come to loot Odisha.’

The Yatra paused at Birsa Munda Ground, Ranibandh, for lunch. Here, Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh and youth leader Kanhaiya Kumar addressed the press. Ramesh, addressing the journalists, said, ‘In the 1950s and 1960s, the public sector built our country. Steel factories were established, fertilizer factories were set up, large dams were built, and refineries for oil were installed. Later, a factory like NALCO, which is a pride of Odisha, was established. NTPC power plants were installed. Today, all these are in danger because our Prime Minister’s intention and policy are the same- sell everything. Congress built the nation, and they want to sell it. If the PM comes for the third time, even Rourkela can be sold, NALCO can be sold, and only the Congress party will oppose it, as both BJP and BJD are working together, having a common agenda, with only a difference in initials.’

After the afternoon break, the Yatra headed towards Jharsuguda. The crowd was so overwhelming along the entire route that the procession had to be repeatedly stopped. Thousands surrounded Rahul Gandhi’s convoy, everyone eager to meet him and catch a glimpse. From Sundargarh, Rahul Gandhi once again started a roadshow and addressed the people at the end of the roadshow. He focused on the issue of unemployment among the youth, criticizing the policies of the central government.

Rahul Gandhi stated, ‘We all have phones today. China made these phones, providing employment to the people of China. You bought the phone, but the money went to the pockets of Chinese companies, and the billionaires who have the license to sell these phones. But who suffered the loss? Our people. I want ‘Made in Odisha’ and ‘Made in Rourkela’ to be written on this phone. So, the primary reason for this Yatra is against Aarthik Anyay, unemployment, inflation, and the privatization of all public sector units by Modi Ji.’

Rahul Gandhi also reiterated his opposition to the government’s attempt to acquire tribal land forcibly. He said, ‘People stopped me on the way and said, ‘Stop this drone survey.’ The government is conducting a drone survey, preparing to steal tribal land. The Congress party will stand against it.’

After this address, Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra headed towards Jharsuguda for an overnight halt.
